Violin/Viola

Elyssa seibel

My name is Elyssa, and I’m a passionate music educator with over 20 years of experience specializing in violin, viola, and music theory.

I began playing violin at the age of five as part of my homeschool education—music was a non-negotiable in our household, and I quickly grew to love it. That early foundation not only shaped my identity but also opened many doors for me, including the opportunity to attend college on a music scholarship.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance from Samford University and have since had the privilege of performing with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and live bands across the country.

For the past 11 years (12 hot Texas summers!), I’ve called the Austin area home. I live here with my amazing husband, Adam, our two awesome kids, several cats, and our fluffy Great Pyrenees, Zeus.

When I’m not teaching, you can often find me behind the camera for my photography business, hunting wildflowers, gardening with my children, or enjoying a very large cup of coffee.

Some of the most meaningful moments in my life have come through music—both playing and teaching—and I’m thrilled to begin creating those kinds of memories with you and your family at the Liberty Hill School of Music.

Charlie Brown.jpg

Guitar

Charlie Brown

Originally from the El Paso area, Charlie Brown’s love for music began as a trumpet player before expanding into bass guitar at age 15, when he formed a metal garage band with friends. From there, his passion for music grew quickly, leading him to collaborate with musicians across a wide range of styles.

In 1996, Charlie moved to Austin to immerse himself in the local music scene, where he spent over a decade performing and working on various band projects through 2007. Largely self-taught, Charlie never confined himself to a single genre. His bass playing spans funk, pop, slap, metal, blues, and jazz, while his guitar work includes lead and rhythm styles in metal, rock, blues, and country. He has also contributed bass and guitar parts on multiple recording projects in Austin-area studios.

For the past 20 years, Charlie has balanced his musical background with a career in the technology industry while raising two wonderful children. He is passionate about teaching and excited to pass on his experience, creativity, and love of music—helping students discover and bring out the music within themselves.

From choir to band to piano, her dedication to music is shown in her technical skills and knowledge of music theory. One of the most influential experiences in shaping her musical ability and appreciation has been her training in piano and now pedagogy by her teacher and mentor, Dr. Marissa Goodwin, a graduate of Baylor University School of Music.
